“This is about making sure every Unified athlete feels they belong on the court or track just as much as anyone else.”

What We Do
Unified Drip is a student-founded, registered nonprofit that equips Unified athletes with the right footwear and sports gear so money is never the reason they sit on the sidelines.
Unified athletes often face two barriers at once:
- Limited family resources
- Extra costs for the right shoes needed for basketball, track, and other sports
We step in to cover that gap, quietly, respectfully, and with style, so every Unified athlete shows up feeling seen, included, and ready to play.
Born Unified / athlete experience
Unified Drip was founded by Logan Smallwood, a student-athlete at Limestone Community High School in Bartonville, Illinois and a member of his school’s Unified program.
More
After injuries and setbacks left him questioning his place in sport, Logan joined the Unified program, where students with and without special needs train and compete together.
That experience changed everything. He saw first-hand how the right gear and a sense of belonging could transform confidence, performance, and community.
At the family dinner table, a simple conversation about how important “feeling good in your shoes” is for Unified athletes turned into an idea:
What if every Unified athlete could have the same fresh gear as everyone else?
From that idea, Unified Drip (U-Drip) was born, a nonprofit dedicated to supplying Unified athletes with the “drip” they deserve: proper footwear, sport-specific gear, and the confidence that comes with both.
How Unified Drip Works
We partner with Unified programs
We work directly with coaches, Unified coordinators, and schools to understand how many athletes need footwear and what each athlete requires.
We raise funds and source the right gear
Through donations, speaking engagements, and local partnerships, we raise money to purchase high-quality athletic shoes and sport-specific gear.
We outfit Unified athletes, with dignity and style
Gear is distributed through the school or Unified program so athletes receive what they need in a way that feels normal, respectful, and exciting, not like charity.
We share the impact
As we hit milestones, we update our community with stories, photos (where permitted), and stats so donors can see the difference they’re making.
Who We Serve
Unified Drip focuses on Unified athletes: students with and without intellectual disabilities who play together on Unified teams, often in partnership with Special Olympics and school-based Unified programs

These athletes:
- May not have the financial means to buy proper athletic shoes
- Often compete in basketball, track & field, soccer, and other sports
- Deserve the same performance, comfort, and confidence as any other athlete
We currently support Unified programs in the central greater Peoria, Illinois area, with a goal of expanding to additional schools and districts across Central Illinois.
